This new project in Ashburn, VA, features a beautiful open porch and deck, designed and built with Trex composite material, PVC trim and aluminum railing.
Since the property faces east it made the backyard area intensely hot during the afternoons. For this reason, the owners decided to build their deck with an adjacent open porch so that they could comfortably enjoy the afternoons under the shade.
The decking is Trex Select Woodland Brown, which has a soft, splinter-free finish and is backed by a 25-year limited residential warranty. Composite materials are hassle free, requiring only a periodical soap and water cleanup.
The deck was finished with Trex Reveal aluminum railing and PVC trim painted to match the existing siding. The roof is not your typical shingle roof, but is a metal standing seam roof, which matches the existing front porch roof on the front of the house. This ties the new structure nicely with the house’s original architecture.
